The Alfa Romeo Disco Volante by Touring is a two-seater coupé with front-central engine and rear-mounted transaxle drivetrain.
Inspired by a design icon
Showcased at 2012 Geneva Motor Show as a full scale style model, now coach built in the Touring atelier in Milan as a very limited series for discerning customers. It is inspired by the Touring designed Alfa Romeo C52 of 1952, a design icon so innovative that it influenced a number of celebrated sports and racing cars in the decades ahead.
Power and elegance
The excellent Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione supplies the rolling chassis and drivetrain with all electronic systems. The final result combines power and elegance in a car certain to set another Touring milestone in automobile history.
Insensitive to wind
Following our founder’s credo of “Weight is the enemy, air resistance the obstacle” Disco Volante’s shape has been honed to be “insensitive to wind.”
With its light and stiff structure, the compact 4.7 litre, 450 PS V8 engine coupled to a sequential paddle-shift transaxle, with limited slip differential and double wishbones suspension, the package provides stunning performance together with precise, dynamic and proactive drive.
Futuristic Features
In true Carrozzeria Touring tradition, special care has been taken over the interior which is in keeping with the sporting design and style of the car.
Flying Saucer feeling
Skilful touches inspired by aviation design, such as the instrument panel with red LED lights giving it a “spaceship” – indeed a “flying saucer” – feeling.
The leather upholstery has been specially coloured to mirror the tone of the body, and is coupled with matching black Alcantara.

Our brand is “unique”
Built strictly to order, and only in very restricted numbers, each car is manufactured in accordance with the customer’s instructions. Colour choices, fittings, accessories and materials are all configured by the customer, who is encouraged to be adventurous in creating his own singular atmosphere, while being mentored by our designers.
Bringing it to life
Only by hand-forming the aluminium sheets is it possible to produce the intricate shapes of Disco Volante’s coachwork. That is why Touring’s designs are so different from series-produced cars.
In some areas of high stress or exposure, such as the lower valance, carbon fibre has been integrated, blending high skill with high tech.
Handcrafted Precision
Our craftsmen use the same tools and skills that have been in use for decades, but to assist them in their pursuit of perfection we now incorporate sophisticated electronic measuring and testing machines. Unlike hand-built thoroughbreds from the past our modern thoroughbreds are symmetrical from side to side!
An obsession for getting it right
The hand-built nature of the car means literally a hands-on process, so no detail gets overlooked. A constant series of checking, fettling and re-checking ensures flawless build quality.
